Meeker’s Town Board of Trustees, during a recent special meeting, closed out one REAP grant, adopted a resolution to apply for another and also authorized seeking an American Rescue Plan grant.
The Trustees approved the REAP contract closeout certification for 2021 along with approving the affidavit of non-collusion and verification for payment. The grant was handled by the Central Oklahoma Economic Development District (COEDD).
They also voted to approve payment to Gorman Paving for $52,826.10 for street repair, the project done with the REAP funds.
Trustees voted to approve the application for a COEDD REAP grant in 2022. With that, they approved the certification of Mayor Donna Weber as the chief elected official to sign the documentation for the REAP grant.
They adopted a resolution authorizing the application for financial assistance from the REAP fund.
Town Administrator Jeff Wilbourn said if the REAP grant is received, it most likely will be used for water and sewer improvements.
The Trustees approved an application to seek a $1 million ARPA grant from the Oklahoma Water and Resources Board.
Wilbourn explained, “We have no match because we’re a town of under 7,000 population.”
Trustees approved Wilbourn as the authorized representative for the applicant for the ARPA grant and adopted a resolution for the grant as well.
In other business, the Trustees: Approved a lien release of mortgage from Carlton Copher.
Agreed to purchase three Fire King Fireproof file cabinets from James Hodgens for $200 per cabinet.
Approved a letter of charitable donation for the remainder of purchase price.
