Warrant in repair fraud case

A $15,000 bench warrant has been issued for a man charged with two felonies in a case involving home repairs he allegedly took money for but hasn’t done.

Joshua Julien Factory, 41, Luther, was charged Nov. 3 in Lincoln County District Court with obtaining money by trick, deception or false presentation and home repair fraud.

The bench warrant was issued the same day the charges were filed.

Count 1 accuses Factory on April 20 of this year at a residence on East Meadow Lark Lane in Lincoln County of obtaining $5,585 from a woman by falsely representing to her that he would use the money to buy materials with which he would remodel and repair her home, with the intent to cheat and defraud.

In Count 2, he is charged on the same day and location of entering a customer transaction where he promised to remodel and repair the woman’s home and obtained a down payment of $5,585 when he did not intend to perform the repairs and he has not performed them.

Supplemental information filed by prosecutors shows that Factory was convicted in Lincoln County District Court in 2020 in two cases involving embezzlement.

In the most recent charges, Deputy Sheriff Christopher Hyde and Investigator Tanner Hand investigated the alleged home repair fraud case.
