Wilford Wayne Hackner, Sr. was born August 5, 1941 in Kansas City, Kansas to Robert and Natalia (Grant) Hackner. He passed away November 29, 2022 in Drumright, Oklahoma at the age of 81.
Wilford grew up in Kansas City, KS where his mother and father inspired his musical passion at an early age. He learned to play the piano, clarinet, saxophone but developed a lifelong passion for the guitar. He quickly became an accomplished guitarist allowing him to play with several musical bands in Chicago and Kansas City and form groups off and on throughout his life in Oklahoma. His interests and aptitude for electronics and mechanics gained him employment as a skilled Aircraft electrician at Tinker AFB and later at Lockheed Martin until his retirement.
Wilford was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Natalia Hackner; sister, Lawanna Bruner.
Survivors include his former wife and partner, Angkhana (Belle) Hackner of the home; children, Wilford Hackner, Jr. and his wife Deniz of Washington D.C., Anthony Hackner and his wife Michelle of Austin, TX.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, December 11, 2022 in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel.
