Special Agents from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) have arrested a Norman man in connection with the murder of Charissia Dawn Bell of Wellston. Bell’s remains were discovered at Lake Thunderbird on Monday, Feb. 13, 2023.
Austin Godwin, 30, of Norman, was arrested on Feb. 21, just before midnight. He is facing charges of first degree murder and unlawful disposal of a body, the OSBI said. Godwin is currently in the Cleveland County Detention Center.
The OSBI was assisted by the Norman Police Department, Oklahoma Park Rangers and the Cleveland County Sheriff’s Office.
