Billie Jean Black died on May 1, 2023. She was born December 16, 1934, to parents Alice (Brittain) Miller and Gene Scaggs, in Stroud, Oklahoma.
Billie was born and raised in Stroud and graduated from Stroud High School in 1952.
After high school, when Raymond Black returned to Stroud from the war, the high school sweethearts married, in a double wedding with Raymond’s older brother Bob, and his wife Joanne, in Arizona, in 1953.
Billie opened her dress shop, Billie’s Fashion, and ran it for over 30 years on Main Street in Stroud.
Billie is survived by her daughter-in-law, Terry Black; two grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister Karen Dorsey; as well as extended family and friends.
Billie is preceded in death by her parents; husband Raymond Black; and son Kevin Black.
Funeral services were held May 5, 2023 at Stroud First Assembly of God with burial at Stroud Cemetery. Condolences may be offered online at www. parksbrothers.net. Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, OK.
