Gray shines in Series

Chandler High School product Jon Gray took center stage Monday night as he pitched three innings of scoreless relief for Texas in Game 3 of the World’s Series and was the winning pitcher.

A 2010 Chandler graduate, Gray has pitched for the Rangers since 2022 after playing seven years for the Colorado Rockies.

He entered the game in relief of Max Scherzer and struck out three while allowing only one hit.

He was followed by Josh Sborz and two other Rangers pitchers who maintained the Rangers’ lead and put them up two games to one going into Tuesday night’s game.

After graduating from Chandler, Gray played for Eastern Oklahoma State College and Oklahoma University.

He had a 69-64 career record going into the post-season and was 9-8 during the regular season.
