Dale Board of Education members this week approved a couple of fund-raisers and also approved a joint agreement between Dale and Gordon Cooper Tech Center.
Both fund-raisers were for the Middle School Leadership Team. One was for a Middle School Dance to help raise funds for the Veteran’s Day activities the Team sponsors and the other was a bake sale to raise money for student recognition and teacher appreciation programs.
The agreement between Dale Schools and Gordon Cooper Technology Center is for GCTC to offer certain academic classes approved by the Oklahoma State Department of Education.
School Supt. Will Jones reported that everything is in for the generator project for the school cafeteria and a water monitoring system is in place for the gym.
During his report, Jones reviewed financial information with the board showing how February of this year compared to the same month in 2023.
The warrants as of February 2024 were $3,837,958 and in February of 2023 they were $3,501,458. That’s an increase of $336,500 over February of 2023, he noted.
Building Fund cash balance in February of this year was $2,093,281 compared to $185,517 in February of 2023. That’s an increase of $1,907,764 and Jones attributed that to insurance money.
The General Fund cash balance in February of this year stood at $1,778,029, about $805,338 more than the $972,691 balance in February of 2023, he said.
State Aid received as of February of 2024 is $2,645,546 and that is an increase of $722,487 over the $1,923,059 of February 2023.
The County sales tax balance was $285,951 in February 2024, $228,064 less than the $514,015 in February of 2023, he advised board members.
February sales tax check amounted to $29,929.
