Chandler approves personnel changes

Chandler Board of Education members in their August meeting this week hired several new personnel and accepted the resignation of three others.

They also approved a number of committees.

Chandler School Supt. Scott Baade said the new hirings are Maddie Miller, first grade teacher; Katanna Davis, Junior High STEM teacher, Madison Robertson, East Side Elementary teacher’s aide and Natasha Fowler, cafeteria staff worker.

Resignations accepted were Cassandra Scott, cafeteria staff, Dara Mc-Donald, East Side Aide and Jacob Schultz, STEM teacher.

They approved the encumbrances for administrators, certified contracts and support employees who have contracts beginning in August of 2024.

In other business, board members: Approved Celeste Spruill as an adjunct teacher for five hours of mid-level math for the 2024-2025 school year.

Approved Jack Gray as an adjunct teacher for four hours of 7th-12th grade Physical Education for the 2024-2025 school year.

Approved Alex Reed as an adjunct teacher for one hour of 7th-12th grade Health for the 2024-2025 school year.

Agreed to a contract with the Oklahoma Department of Career Tech for funding of the Ag Education, Business and Information Technology Education, and Family and Consumer Sciences for school year 20242025.

Approved the Memorandum of Understanding between Lincoln County Gateway to Prevention and Recovery with the Lincoln County Health Department.

Approved the Mentor Teacher Advisory Committee: Amanda Savig to mentor Katanna Davis, Shawna Wright to mentor Ayla Loughry, Kari Hulsey to mentor Ravyn Bevard, Taira Blankenship to mentor Maddie Miller and Terri German to mentor Amanda Raper.

A textbook advisory committee was approved consisting of Bridget Hughey, Michelle Underwood and Zachary Fisher.

A Medical Exemption Review Committee was approved. Those members include Jacalyn Allen, Stephanie Means, Charm Hoehn, Amy Radcliffe, Bridget Hughey, Freddie Hall, Geoff Metheny, Cynthia Snider.

Approved a Professional Development Advisory Committee consisting of Bridget Hughey, Charm Hoehn, Geoff Metheny and Freddie Hall.

Approved the Federal Programs Advisory Committee consisting of Scott Baade, Charm Hoehn, Misty Cryer, Kendra Miller, Bridge Hughey, Kelly Robbins, Mary Means.

Approved the FFA program’s request for a out of state trip to Indianapolis, Ind., to the National FFA Convention. The trip will be Oct. 20, 2024 to Oct. 25, 2024.

Approved Christon Cummings as Title IX coordinator.

Approved several policies and revisions to policies.

Approved a list of Park Road library books as surplus.
