Additional felony charges for Chander man

A Chandler man previously convicted of a felony and a misdemeanor has been charged with two felonies and has made his initial appearance.

Ovis Owen Lowe III,

3.42’’x11.5’ 49, was formally charged recently in Lincoln County District Court with endangering others while eluding/ attempting to elude police officer and driving while under the influence of alcohol.

A $3,500 bench warrant was issued for his arrest the same day charges were filed. Court records show the warrant was returned and filed on the day after he was charged and he made an initial appearance before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk on Aug. 19.

She ordered that his $3,500 bond continue and that he make a reappearance in court on Sep. 9.

Count 1 accuses Lowe on June 23, 2024 of eluding Sac and Fox Tribal Officer Andrew Nguyen by traveling at speeds over 100 miles per hour, running stop signs, striking vehicles and endangering numerous other persons on Highway 18.

In Count 2, Lowe faces a felony count of driving while under the influence of alcohol by operating a vehicle on Highway 18 while under the influence of intoxicating alcohol.

Supplemental information filed in the case by Assistant District Attorney Rachel Thompson shows Lowe was convicted on Aug. 13, 2021 in Lincoln County District Court of driving while under the influence of alcohol, a misdemeanor.
