Dale School Board members approved the Estimate of Needs for the 2024-2025 school year during their most recent meeting and approved capacity numbers for 2024-2025.

School Supt. Will Jones said the the Estimate of Needs for 2024-2025 totals $5,536,492.26. That compares to the Estimate of Needs for 2023-2024 which was $6,662,185.70.

The board members also approved a contract with Stephen L. Smith Corp., as financial consultant for 2024-2025.

They approved new policies recommended by OSSBA.

The board was informed the ACT will be administered on Oct. 23, 2024 and April 2, 2025. During his superintendent’s report, Jones reviewed financial information showing warrants in August of this year were $799,605 compared with $711,084 in August of 2023 which was up $88,521 from a year ago.

The General Fund cash balance in August of this year stood at $1,467,100 and in August of 2023 it was $374,135, an increase of $1,092,965.

The building fund cash balance for August of 2024 was $380,594 compared to $212,191 in August of 2023, up $168,403 from a year ago.

State Aid in August of 2024 was $377,536. In August of 2023, it stood at $316,656, up $60,880.

The County Sales Tax balance in August this year was at $111,518. That is down from the $393,267 balance in August of 2023 by $281,749. The August revenue from the county sales tax amounted to $27,779.

Jones said the sum of building, general and county tax balances for 2024 is $1,959,212 compared to $979,593 in 2023, up $979,619 from a year ago.

That 2023 balance of $979,593 was an increase of $49,245 over the 2022 balance of $930,348, The total increase from July 1, 2022 until 2024 is $1,178,733, he said.
