Two people from Stroud, charged with drug and contraband felonies following their arrest in June by law enforcement officers, have each pleaded innocent to the charges.
Katelynn Pamela Gordon, 27, and Thomas Blake Cole, 35, were formally charged in Lincoln County District in June of this year with trafficking in illegal drugs and contraband into a jail/penal institution.
Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk set bond for Gordon at $20,000 on the trafficking count and $3,500 on the contraband charge.
She set Cole’s bond at $50,000 on the trafficking charge and $3,500 on the contraband count.
During their arraignments on Tuesday, each pleaded innocent and they have been scheduled for the felony disposition docket at 9 a.m. on Jan. 14, 2025.
Gordon made a further initial appearance on July 1. Court records show amended information was filed against her and she also faces a child neglect count.
Supplemental information filed by Assistant District Attorney Kelly Trimble shows that Cole was previously convicted on April 10, 2013, in Okmulgee County District Court of Endeavoring/Conspiracy to deliver/ manufacture/possess CDS, a felony.
In Count 1, Gordon and Cole are accused on May 15, 2024 in Lincoln County of possessing not less than 20 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of methamphetamine which is classified as a Controlled Dangerous Substance.
In Count 2, they are charged on May 28 in Lincoln County of possessing contraband, specifically a quantity of Tetrahydrocannibinois, classified as a CDS, in a place were inmates are located.
In a probable cause affidavit prepared by Stroud Police Officer Christian Wade Martin, he states on April 29 a traffic stop was conducted by Stroud Officers Damien Gonzales and Tammi Batman. A free air sniff was done by Stroud Police K-9 Arko in which Arko alerted on the vehicle.
During the search of the vehicle, a small baggy of an orange, crystal like substance was located. The occupant of the vehicle indicated the substance was her sister’s, Katelynn Gordon.
The substance tested by the OSBI Forensic Laboratory identified it as methamphetamine.
Martin further points out in the affidavit that around 7:30 am. on May 15, a trash pull was conducted at a residence in Stroud in Lincoln County.
Officers Batman, Gonzales, Jimmy Brown and Martin searched two poly carts, finding numerous cellophane baggies that had been torn. Found too, among other items, was a small cotton ball which tested positive for methamphetamine.
As the investigation continued, Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk signed a residential search warrant on May 15 authorizing the search at that Stroud residence.
Two days later, May 17, the search warrant was conducted between the Stroud Police Department and Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Team.
