Arrest made in Embezzlement

AChandlerwomanhas been arrested for allegedly embezzling $170,000 from a Meeker business and she was transported to the Lincoln County Jail in Chandler.

Meeker Assistant Police Chief Scott Wilson identified the woman as Lesa Manning, 64. Court records show that a $25,000 bench warrant was issued for her arrest on June 12.

Special Judge Emily Mueller set Manning’s bond.

Her initial appearance is scheduled for 9 a.m. June 23.

Wilson said Meeker PoliceandtheOklahoma StateBureauofInvestigation arrested Manning and booked her into the Lincoln County Jail.

He reported she is being held on one charge of embezzlement at this time. No formal charges have been filed against Manning, according to court records.

Wilson stated the joint investigation has been under way for about six months. “We worked with the OSBI due to their forensic expertise,” he noted.

Wilson pointed out that Manning is a former employee of Easy Lay Liner Meeker. He said Manning is accused of taking the money over a four-year period, 2020 through 2024.
