A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a defendant from Luther facing nine counts for crimes against kids.
Fabiola Pia Lacroix, about 25, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 13, 2025 with two counts of child neglect, one count of failure to report child abuse and six counts of child abuse.
Associate District Judge Joe Dobry originally issued a $10,000 bench warrant that was later increased to $50,000.
As a condition of the bond, the defendant is to have no contact with the victim.
Special Judge Emily Mueller later set a preliminary hearing for 1:30 p.m. on Oct. 16 and set the bond at $10,000.
In Count 1, LaCroix is accused of between Aug. 12, 2022 and Dec. 31, 2023 of committing the crime of child neglect of a two-yea-old.
In Count 2, she is charged with between Aug. 12, 2024 and June 2025 of committing child abuse against a child under 18.
Count 3 accuses LaCroix of between Aug. 12, 2024 and July 25, 2025 of the crime of felony child abuse by harming or threatening to harm a chid under 18 by striking a four-year-old with a belt on her face, back and chest causing injury to her in Lincoln County.
In count 4, the defendant is charged with a misdemeanor of failing to report child abuse. On or between Aug. 12, 2022 and Dec. 31, 2023, she didn’t promptly report child abuse to the Department of Human Services in Lincoln County when she had reason to believe a twoyear- old was the victim of child abuse after having observed Vincent Garcia expose himself to that two-year-old.
Count 5 charges her with felony child abuse with between Aug. 12, 2024 and July25, 2025 of choking a 10-yearold and putting her hand around his neck in Lincoln County.
In count 6, she is charged with felony child abuse by between Au.g 12, 2024 and July 25, 2025 of harming a 10-year-old by strangling him and covering his month and pinching his nose.
Count 7, felony child abuse, charges her during the same above time frame of harming a 10-year-old by punching that 10-yearold.
In count 8, felony child abuse, LaCroix is accused between Aug. 12, 2024 and July 25, 2025 of striking an eight-year-old in the head, back and/or legs with a stick in Lincoln County.
Count 9 accuses her of between Aug. 12, 2024 and July 25, 2025 of felony child abuse by striking an eight-year-old in the back of the head in Lincoln County.
