The Chandler Rotary Club has selected Brooklynn Eyestone, Wyatt Mayer and Brett Ramsey as Rotarians of the Month for February.
Brooklyn is the daughter of Bailey Eyestone and JD Eyestone. She has lived in Chandler for the majority of her life and has attended Chandler Public Schools since kindergarten. In August of 2024, Brooklyn began part-time classes at Gordon Cooper’s early care and education Program.
Brooklyn has maintained a GPA of 3.8 throughout high school. She has taken four years of honors English and maintains her good grades. She has been on the honor roll all throughout high school and has been rewarded for her academic excellence. Brooklyn was accepted into the National Technical Honor Society in her junior year, and has been offered membership in the National Student Scholars.
Brooklyn is actively involved in the Chandler varsity pom team, NTHS, the varsity All-American team, the west all-region state dance team and FCCLA. Brooklyn is currently a chapter officer on Gordon Cooper’s FCCLA competition team and is co-captain of the varsity pom team. In pom, she holds seven state championship titles, one Be Bold award, two academic excellence awards, and one academic state championship. Brooklyn competes with her FCCLA team in the professional presentation category, and has received three regional championships and third place at state. Before injury, Brooklyn competed at dance competitions, where she excelled, receiving fifth at her most recent solo national championship.
In addition to her school activities, Brooklyn also participates in many acts of community service. Her most recent being helping conduct a diaper drive with her FCCLA team. Her team managed to raise and donate hundreds,if not thousands, of diapers to unfortunate families. Some of her other community services include volunteering at a community market, Stamp Out Starvation, being a Girl Power Wise Guy mentor, and many more.
After graduation, Brooklyn plans to attend East Central University in hopes of continuing her studies in education. She hopes to one day own her own early care center.
Wyatt Mayer is the son of Wesley Mayer and Tara and Jayson Gates. He was born and raised in Chandler, and has attended Chandler Public Schools throughout the entirety of his life.
Mayer has a 3.39 GPA, and has taken AP English these past two years. He is currently in his second year of Electrical Studies at Gordon Cooper Technology. He has been on the honor roll his sophomore, junior and the first semester of his senior year. Mayer has been on the Academic Team and part of Gifted and Talented. He was a member of FFA for two years, the Shooting Sports Team and part of Skills USA at Gordon Cooper.
Outside of school, his activities include helping with Meals on Wheels, Wise Guys Girl Power, and helping on the family farm. After high school, Mayer plans to go to OSUIT to further his education in the electrical field.
Brett Ramsey was raised by his grandmother, Terri Ramsey. He attended Chandler during his first-grade year, later moved away, and returned in eighth grade, where he has continued his education through high school.
Since returning to Chandler, Brett has been actively involved in Chandler FFA, Rotary Club, and the Eastern Oklahoma County Career Tech Fire Academy. At the EOC Fire Academy, his peers elected him as class leader, recognizing his leadership, work ethic, and ability to motivate others. He currently serves as a volunteer firefighter with the Chandler Fire Department, where he regularly responds to emergency calls and continues to develop his skills.
Through his service with the fire department, Brett has earned certifications in Emergency Vehicle Operations, Low-Angle Rescue, CPR, and First Aid. His dedication to public service extends beyond emergency response, as he has participated in numerous community service activities, including Angel Tree shopping, East Side Elementary classroom setup, and volunteering at the Lincoln County Museum of Pioneer History Haunted House. He is also an active member of First Baptist Church in Chandler.
Following high school, Brett plans to enroll in the Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) program at Eastern Oklahoma County Career Tech. Upon completion, he intends to pursue a full-time career as a firefighter in Oklahoma, with the long-term goal of earning a position on the Oklahoma Task Force.
