The Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics’s (OBN) Marjuana Enforcement Team served a search warrant at Purple Ray LLC in Meeker on Feb. 25, as part of an ongoing investigation into illegal cultivation and trafficking of marijuana into the out-of-state black market, according to Lincoln County Sheriff Kevin Garrett.
A total of 6,737 plants and 1,244 pounds of processed marijuana were seized, said Garrett. Agents arrested Sin Tung Chan, 76, and a second individual was taken into the custody of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The operation was carried out in cooperation with ICE, Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), the Lincoln County Sheriff ’s Office and the Lincoln County Commissioners. Garrett said District 3 furnished dump trucks while OBN had skid loaders on scene.
“We’re constantly trying to do something if we come across it,” he said, adding that the County Commissioners have been providing aid as well.
