The Meeker FFA Chapter recently held its annual officer retreat, giving chapter officers an opportunity to prepare for the upcoming school year while strengthening their leadership and teamwork skills.
The 2026–2027 Meeker FFA officer team includes President Baylee Weeks, Vice President Kadence Staude, Secretary Beau Newport, Reporter Mattie Hurley, Treasurer Michael Pritchard and Sentinel Drake McMillan.
During the retreat, officers toured One Sixty Meat Processing,alocallyowned meat processing facility. The tour gave members an opportunity to learn more about a local agricultural business and gain insight into the role meat processing plays in the agriculture industry.
The officers also visited an escape room, where they were challenged to work together to solve problems and complete tasks. The activity helped members strengthen their communication, collaboration and problem-solving skills while learning the importance of relying on one another as a team.
The Meeker FFAofficers also attended a mixer at Topgolf with the Ripley FFAofficerteam.Theevent provided an opportunity for officers from both chapters to connect, build relationships and share ideas while enjoying time together.
As part of the retreat, officers revealed their personality boxes, giving each member an opportunity to share more about themselves and learn about the unique personalities, interests, and strengths of their fellow officers.
When asked to reflect on her officer team and the retreat, President Baylee Weeks said, “I learned a lot about my officer team’s personalities and interests during our personality session, and it was really cool to see what they like to do. Officer retreat helped strengthen our officer team by presenting us with challenges to overcome together and a chance to spend quality time with each other and get to know each other better. I would best describe my officer team as energetic, passionate, and determined.”
Mr. Johns and Mr. Boone facilitated many of the leadership and team-building activities throughout the retreat. Through these activities, officers learned more about the importance of the individual roles they will serve and how each officer contributes to the success of the chapter.
The officers also set goals for the upcoming school year and discussed ways they can work together to make the Meeker FFA Chapter successful. Secretary Beau Newport shared his excitement for the year ahead, saying, “I am looking forward to putting on every event together as an officer team, because the potential of a successful officer team is unmatched.”
The retreat provided a strong foundation for the officer team as they prepare to lead their chapter, serve their members, and represent Meeker FFA throughout the coming year.
