The Lincoln County Commissioners extended the countywide burn ban for another 14 days at their regular meeting on Sept. 8.
Only District 3 and District 2 Commissioners Lee Doolen and Marlon Miller were present for the meeting.
The Commissioners also approved a food service agreement for the jail with Prodigy and the appointment of Dwayne Danker to the County Board of Health. They chose not to approve early payroll for November, but plan to focus on pushing through safety and retroactive pay in October. It may come up for discussion again at a later time.The Commissioners also approved an indigent cremation for $350 and an estimate of needs for a roof for the health department.
A number of items were pushed until the next meeting or had no action. Doolen and Miller decided to wait on making a decision regarding MetLife Insurance. The County is still waiting on a bill from the company in order to determine premiums. The delay was attributed to a prior vision partner dropping the County before July 1, which required MetLife to transition coverage over about four weeks instead of the usual six months.
The Commissioners also agreed to push decisions until the next meeting on approving the Forte Credit Card agreement, a declaration of surplus for the commissioners’ office and District #2 and a resolution for disposing of equipment for District #2 and the commissioners’ office.
They took no action on a resolution to put asphalt on District #3 1030 Road, as Doolen had to abstain from voting. Miller said he could put it on a future agenda when all three commissioners are present.
