Agra school board approves personnel, credits

The Agra School Board approved several personnel decisions and to accept credits received at Meridian Technology Center for high school graduation credit at its regular meeting on Sept. 14.

The Board approved Alexa Gilleland as an adjunct fourth-grade teacher, the extension of Madison Logan’s emergency certificate in Elementary Education, Ivan McFarlin as an adjunct Physical Education/Health/Safety teacher, emergency certification for Shawna Swindell in Early Childhood Education and Jake Fisher as an adjunct teacher in Physcial Science.

The Board also approved the district requirements and teacher designations for the 2026-27 Oklahoma Teacher Empowerment Program, though it took no action on applicants for the program.

They also approved the transcription of eligible math, science and computer science course credits completed byAgra High School students at Meridian Technology Center for high school graduation credit.

Other items that the Board approved include the Records Investigation Policy regarding felony record searches and criminal background checks for district employees, the Chase Morris Sudden Cardiac Arrest Emergency Response Plan, the Parental Involvement/Parents’ Bill of Rights Board Policy and Complaint/Concern form, and the Diabetes Medical Management Plan form that includes a required medical provider approval and parent/guardian consent for diabetes care and monitoring.

The Board approved a request to OSDE for deregulation of three policies to allow Agra to operate its school libraries without a certified librarian and utilize full-time library assistants.

At the special meeting held on Sept. 18, the Board approved the school district’s Estimate of Needs for the Fiscal Year 2026-27.
