Woman charged with felony DUI

Jennifer Tweedy, 41, of Choctaw, made an initial appearance in Lincoln County court on Sept. 24, and will return on Nov. 14 for a pre-preliminary hearing.

Tweedy was charged with one felony count of driving a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol aggravated and one misdemeanorcountofreckless driving. The charges were filed on Sept. 23 by the Lincoln County district attorney. She was initially arrested on Sept. 22.

According to the probable cause affidavit, Dep. Chad Pavlicek with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office made a traffic stop at SH 66 and Hayes Dr. in Wellston at around 12:34 a.m. He stated that he observed a car heading westbound in the eastbound lane and had to go onto the shoulder to avoid a head-on collision.

When he pulled over the vehicle, he ran the tags and they returned to Tweedy. He then spoke with her and obtained her driver’s license, asking if she had been drinking. He stated that she replied that she had. Pavlicek then contacted Dep. Greg Smith to request that he perform a standardized field sobriety test (SFST).

The report said that Dep. Smith arrived at around 12:50 a.m. and approached Tweedy asking first if she had admitted to drinking and secondly if she would be willing to perform an SFST. She said yes to both. Smith had her go through the three tests, observing multiple signs that Tweedy was intoxicated. Due to this, Pavlicek placed Tweedy under arrest for driving under the influence and transported her to the Lincoln County Jail.

At around 2:02 a.m., Smith arrived at the jail after waiting for the vehicle to be impounded and Tweedy was administered the Intoxilyzer 8000, where she blew a 0.18 BrAC.
