Effie Lou Willis

Funeral services will be held for Effie Louise Buoy Walker Willis of Meeker at 2 p.m., today, February 13, 2020, at Meeker First Baptist Church with Pastor Joe Jones officiating. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker under the direction of Walker Funeral Service in Shawnee, Okla.

Willis was born November 13, 1931, in Meeker and died Saturday, February 8, 2020, in Shawnee at the age of 88 years.

The daughter of Rome Edward and Iva Mae (Beatty) Buoy, she married Earl Eugene Walker on July 18, 1949, in Sparks. Following his death, she married Arthur “Sog” Willis on July 29, 2014, in Meeker.

She worked at Sylvania, Blue Bell and on the farm.

Preceding her in death were her parents, both husbands, and her siblings, James Buoy, Norma Buoy, Bill Buoy, Wanda Moudy, Barba Rae (Ford) Forrester and George Buoy.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Edward and Sue Walker; her daughter and son-in-law, Gloria and Joe Judd; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Melba Buoy; three grandchildren and their spouses; nine great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.

She is also survived by her stepchildren, Kathy Gouker, Joyce Flowers, and Tom Miller and his wife Robin; two sisters-in-law, Mary Joyce Quary and Benny and Velma McCarty; her brother-in-law James Walker; and other relatives and friends.
