A graveside service will be held for Shirley Ann Cockrell at 9:30 a.m., Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at Stroud Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
Cockrell was born September 13, 1926, in Avant, Okla. She died Friday, August 7, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the age of 93 years.
The daughter of Basil and Grace (Snider) Troyer, she married Johnnie D. Cockrell Sr. on July 12, 1945, in San Francisco, Calif.
She worked as a bookkeeper for several businesses.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, her son James Kevin Cockrell and her brother Dick Troyer.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Jon Michael and Concesa Cockrell; four grandchildren and their spouses; four great-grandchildren; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Gloria Mendenhall and Sharlene and Max Applegate; and other family and friends.
