Orville Eldio Roddy was born June 1, 1935, near the town of Mountain View, Okla. He died Friday, October 23, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the age of 85 years.
Roddy, the son of Rube Nim and Verna Mae (Teel) Roddy, married Mary Jane Cornelison on June 14, 1958. Following her death, he married Glenda Faye Fenimore. After she died, he married Jane Soward.
A 1953 graduate of Mountain View High School, he earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from Central State University in Edmond. He served in the United States Navy and was a math teacher at Stroud High School. After retirement, he worked as a rural mail carrier in Blanchard, Okla. He was a member of Stroud First Baptist Church.
His parents and two wives preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife Jane Roddy of Stroud; and two sons, Ken Roddy of Edmond and Craig Roddy and wife Gretchen of The Woodlands, Texas.
He is also survived by four grandchildren; several stepchildren and grandchildren; and other family and friends.
A private family service will be held. Care services are provided by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
