The number of people testing positive for COVID-19 across Oklahoma again increased significantly over the past week and the surge continues in Pottawatomie and Lincoln Counties as well.
The number of new positive tests in Pottawatomie County jumped by 455 in the last week and in Lincoln County they increased by 149, according to figures provided by the OSDH.
Between the two counties, the number of positive tests has jumped by 604 people in the last seven days.
Lincoln County’s number this week is 1,374. A week ago it was 1,225 the OSDH said.
The number of people testing positive for the virus in Pottawatomie County this week stands at 3,682. Last week it was 3,227.
Total number of people testing positive in the two counties now stands at 5,056, according to the OSDH. A week ago that number stood at 4,452.
Total number of people who have recovered in the two counties is 4,162, according to OSDH figures. In Pottawatomie County, 3,011 have recovered and 1,151 have recovered in Lincoln County.
Statewide as of Tuesday, 199,482 have tested positive, there have been 1,758 deaths and 167,406 who have recovered. Active cases stood at 30,318 the OSDH said.
Last week there were 177,974 testing positive, there had been 1,649 deaths and 142,381 had recovered. There were 33,844 active cases a week ago.
This week on Tuesday, the OSDH reported more than 1,700 new positive cases confirmed and 15 additional deaths. The OSDH reports more than 1,873,468 have tested negative.
