Etta Addeline Winkleman Castleberry was born December 13, 1928, in Castle, Okla. She died Monday, January 25, 2021, at the age of 92 years.
The daughter of Benjamin Douty “Ben” and Amelia Bertha Martie Winkleman, she married Charles B. Castleberry in November 1944.
She attended Davenport Schools and worked at G.F. Wacker’s Store in Stroud. After becoming a licensed practical nurse in 1972, she worked at Stroud Nursing Center and Stroud Hospital. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Stroud.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, an infant son and her son Douglas Castleberry and her 13 brothers and sisters.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Charla Castleberry and John Owens of Stroud and Linda Castleberry and Herb Moring of Shawnee, Okla.; her sons and their spouses, Gerry and Alice Castleberry of Perry, Okla., Charles Castleberry Jr. of Stroud and Alan and Tina Castleberry of Stillwater, Okla.; her daughter-in-law, Susan Castleberry of Stroud; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Saturday, January 30, 2021 at First Baptist Church in Stroud with the Rev. James Bond and the Rev. Michael Novotny officiating. Burial followed at Stroud Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
