Christine Sherman, a long time resident of Chandler, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Shawnee, Okla., at the age of 92. She was born Christine Betzer in Picher, Okla., and was the daughter of John H. and Goldie Pearl (Dickey) Betzer. She and her family moved to Chandler when she was very young and she grew up and attended school in Carney. Christine married Kenneth Sherman on December 31, 1948 in Chandler and the two were happily married until his death. The couple had four daughters and four grandchildren.

Christine loved to cook, sew and to craft. She and her husband owned their own newspaper agency and the family worked together to deliver the news each morning. Christine was a dedicated wife and mother and took great care of her family. She was also very dedicated to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She dedicated her life to spreading his word through the Pentecostal church.

Christine was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Sherman; her parents; sisters, Isla North, June Geeran and her brothers, Ivan Betzer, Melvin Betzer and Dale Betzer and a son-in-law, Eugene Holik.

She is survived by her daughters, Melba Holik of Chandler, Kenita Emory and her husband Steve of Virginia, Joanne Sherman of Shawnee and Jeannie Heath and her husband Bruce of Georgia; grandchildren, Joshua Emory of Virginia, Cierra Emory of Virginia, Lily Heath of Georgia and Cosmo Heath of Georgia; one sister, Geraldine Kingsland of California; sisters-in-law, Virginia Sherman of Oklahoma City and Barbara Foster of Chandler and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

A Graveside Service was held Monday, November 23, 2020 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Chandler.
