A memorial service was held for Harold Wayne “Hoot” Gibson on Sunday, November 8, 2020, at Assembly of God Church in Chandler with the Rev. Kevin Martin officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
Gibson was born to Clarence E. Gibson and Gladys May (Price) Clawson on December 1, 1934, in McCune, Kan. He died Tuesday, November 3, 2020, in Oklahoma City at the age of 85 years.
He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War and was a lifelong cowboy working his own farm and ranch and also for the Chapman-Barnard Ranch in Pawhuska.
His parents preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Patricia Gibson of the home; his daughter and son-in-law Maria and Schott Nelson of Goddard, Kan.; three grandchildren; and other family and friends.
