John Darrell Newnam Sr.

John Darrell Newnam Sr. was born August 31, 1944, and died Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at the age of 76 years.

Newnam, the son of Otho and Stella Newnam, married Carolyn Sanders on February 1, 1965.

A 1963 graduate of Davenport High School, he was a car salesman in Oklahoma City and also worked in insurance.

Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters, two brothers and one great-granddaughter.

Survivors include his wife Carolyn Newnam of Stroud; his children and their spouses, Suzanne and Michael Smith of Stroud, John and Sheana Newnam of Stroud and Brian and Anje Newnam of Tulsa, Okla.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary Jo and Roy Taylor and Sarah and Charles Wright, all of Sparks; and other relatives and friends.

A graveside service was held Saturday, November 14, 2020 at White Dove Cemetery in Sparks officiated by the Rev. James Bond. Care services were provided by Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
