Warren Levon Spurgeon was born July 11, 1928, in Agra. He died Tuesday, August 25, 2020, in Chandler at the age of 92 years.
Spurgeon, the son of Charles Levon and Mary (Boyd) Spurgeon, married Imogene Frisbie in Poteau, Okla.
He attended school in Agra and worked for the railroad before serving in the United States Army during the Korea War. He retired as a grounds keeper for Oklahoma State University in Stillwater.
Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife; one son, Larry Spurgeon; his stepchildren, Albert Byler and Carol Calvert; and eight siblings, Anna Ahart, Theron Spurgeon, Chester Spurgeon, Rose Cochran, Charlie Spurgeon, Melvin Spurgeon, Altha Camren and Leta Potter.
Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Brenda and Gary Howard of Agra and Cherry and Paul Gayetty of Perkins, Okla.; his son Gary Spurgeon of Perkins; nine grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren ; and other relatives and friends.
Graveside services were held Friday, August 28, 2020, at Osage Cemetery in Agra. Arrangements were entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing, Okla.
