Betty Jean Smothers of Meeker was born March 25, 1943, in Magnolia, Ark. She died Wednesday, April 22, 2020, in Meeker at the age of 77 years.
Smothers, the daughter of Calvin W. and Onaree (Short) Harper, married Billy Thomas Smothers on September 4, 1959. Following his death, she married Dennis Kinzell on January 18, 2018.
She was a homemaker and a member of Liberty Baptist Church in Shawnee, Okla.
In addition to her first husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Anita Wallace and JoAnn Baxley; two brothers, Calvin Walker Harper Jr., and Buddy Wilburn Rupert Harper; and one great grandson.
Survivors include her husband Dennis of Meeker; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jimmy Dale and Thomaslene Smothers of Lewisville, Ark., and James Thomas Smothers II of Seminole, Okla.; one daughter and son-in-law, Donna Kay and Mickey Toles of Agra; 10 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her sister Janice K. Ainsworth of Magnolia; and other family and friends.
No services are scheduled. Final arrangements were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
