Dean Ray Tartsah was born to Celestia Morris and Vernon Tartsah on April 29, 1960, in Pawnee, Okla. He died Thursday, April 16, 2020, in Stroud at the age of 59 years.

Dean graduated from Stroud High School, attended Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kan., and served in the United States Navy. He worked in the oilfield.

Preceding him in death were his parents; his sisters, Chenenia Mae Morris LaDeaux, Barbara Warrior, Regina Davis and Shirley Alexander; his brothers, Russell Big Bow, Morris Gene Warrior, George Nullake Jr. and Antowine Warrior; and his adopted father Ronnie Goodeagle Sr.

Survivors include his adopted mother, Yvonne Goodeagle of Cushing, Okla.; son Adam Tartsah and daughter Rebecca Rae Tartsah; and four grandchildren.

He is also survived by his sisters and brothers-in-law, Angela Standing and Patrick Gasper of Jones, Okla., Georgia Faye Nullake of Meeker, Ida Parish Nullake of Shawnee, Okla., Rona Kay and Tuffy Chaino Goodeagle of Cushing and Minnie Masquas of Shawnee; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Thomas and Barbara Warrior of Fort Cobb, Okla., Michael and Sandy Harris of Stroud and Ronnie Harris Goodeagle Jr. of Cushing; and other relatives and friends.

Traditional services were held Sunday, April 19, 2020, at the Sac and Fox Traditional House in Stroud with burial following on Monday, April 20, 2020, at Sac and Fox Cemetery. Arrangements were under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud.
