If you’re taking your dog for a walk stop by True Value or Stroud Cleaners and let your dog “Pause and Refresh.” Town Talk has sponsored two dog watering stations for visitors and locals who enjoy strolling down Main Street with man’s best friend. Thank you to both businesses for their donation to the project. If you would like to sponsor one at your business, please let us know.

Gideon had a Little League ballgame last week in Foster Park. While I was there, I observed many young people using the basketball courts and volleyball pit for evening entertainment. We have such a nice park with many amenities – swimming, fishing, grills, a pavilion, skate park, tennis, basketball, volleyball and a reading/walking trail. It’s exciting to see so many people taking advantage of our park.

The covering is off the windows at our newest Main Street business, Estate Barn. Be sure and stop by when you see the open sign and see what all they have to offer.

Thank you to Jim and Clara Hodgens, Heather Black and Town Talk volunteers David Evans and Aleta Smalley for helping spruce up Main Street last Wednesday night. We worked on the side streets on the southwest side of 4th and southeast side of 6th Avenue and the northeastside of 5th Avenue. Shelly Dunn worked on the sidewalk in front of Stroud Cleaners.

We are removing lots of old dirt, grass and weeds. Once we get everything “spruced up” I think it should be much easier to maintain.

The American flag flowerpots were such a hit that many wanted to just be able to buy them from Town Talk. I was able to secure 39 of them and they should arrive in town this week. They sold out quickly but I have several people still asking for one. I’m on the hunt for more so I’ll keep you posted if I’m able to locate any more.

A big thank you to Bronwyn Howard and Peggy Gardner of Main Street Family Clinic for buying Town Talk a new “watering wagon.” Thanks, also, to Colin Salyer of the Clinic, for picking it up and getting a nice sign on it to advertise our great health care facility. Charles Palmer and his wife also offered to buy us one so thanks to everyone for their support! Be sure and stock up on all your 4th

Be sure and stock up on all your 4th of July celebration supplies right here in Stroud, OK. We’ve got it all – from hot dogs to sparklers.

You don’t even have to leave town to enjoy a fireworks show, thanks to the Stroud Chamber of Commerce, GRDA and the City of Stroud. Have a great week and remember to shop and dine local………….first!
