Gage Husband ran four yards for a touchdown late in the fourth quarter to lift Allen over Stroud in the Tigers’ district opener Thursday.

Allen had taken a 14-0 lead, but Stroud moved with a point by halftime on a 3-yard run for a touchdown by Blake Parrick and a 49-yard scoring run by quarterback Chasen Neuman.

Neuman hit Amariyae Morris with a 7-yard scoring pass and Parrick ran for another touchdown to give Stroud its first lead, at 25-22, with 9:09 left in the game.

Neuman ran for 137 yards on 16 carries to pace the Tigers’ offense.

Parrick added 51 yards and 16 carries.

Morris had 61 yards receiving on three catches and Bryce Hughey had three catches for 53 yards. Dylan Collins added four catches for 33 yards.

The loss leaves the Tigers with a 1-4 record for the season and an 0-1 mark in district play.

They have had four different teams cancel on them due to COVID-19 infections, although they were able to find replacement opponents for two of those games.

They’ll be back in action Friday at Mounds.

“They’re coming off an impressive win over Savanna,” said Stroud coach Josh Presley.

Following Mounds, the Tigers face district leaders Wewoka and Okemah at home.
