Meeker Town Board accepts resignations

Meeker Town Board of Trustees during their most recent meeting approved a supplemental budget, accepted a coupe of resignations and agreed to fill one of those positions.

Tryon ex-officials waive jury trials

Two of three former officials with the City of Tryon facing embezzlement and conspiracy charges have waived their jury trials. Two charges of embezzlement and one for conspiracy were filed in Lincoln County District Court May 10 against former Police Chief Jered Dewayne Prickett, 47.

Hearing in shooting that injured teen

A pre-preliminary hearing has been scheduled for a Chandler man facing two felonies who reportedly shot into a home Easter Sunday night injuring a teenage girl.

County Commissioners approve agreement

Lincoln County commissioners this week approved an agreement with BKL, an engineering and architectural firm, to finish the design process for the jail expansion. The estimated cost of the expansion is around $4 million.

No IDs yet in fatal fire; investigation continues

The two bodies discovered inside a house in Stroud nearly a week after it burned in early March have still not been identified, Stroud Police Chief Clint Gaylord said this week.

Trial date set

A Chandler man who fled the state and went to Florida after he was arraigned to stand trial on four felony charges has been returned and a jury trial date scheduled. A $150,000 bench warrant has been issued for his arrest. Florida authorities arrested Bonner and held him on jail there.

Court appearance in death of Stroud man

A Jennings man facing a manslaughter charge or in the alternative negligent homicide after his semi-trailer truck collided with a vehicle driven by a Stroud man who died in the crash has made his initial appearance. Brent Lee Nobles, 43, was charged in Lincoln County District Court March 23.
