No action on Wellston loop

Lincoln County commissioners during a special meeting this week held up taking any action on an agreement with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority regarding the 930 Loop project. Likewise, they held off approving three forms with the Oklahoma Department of Transportation on the 930 Loop project.

Davenport High School has announced its valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2023. The valedictorian is Josie Walker and the salutatorian is Gage Keith. Josie Walker Josie Walker is the daughter of Amy and Steven Walker. She has attended Davenport public schools for 14 years.

Murder charges filed

A man who was acquitted two years ago of manslaughter in the death of his grandfather in Lincoln County is now charged with first degree murder, accused of helping cause the death of his father.

Prague man sentenced

A Prague man has been sentenced to prison and he still awaits a jury trial on multiple other felonies. Formal charges of Assault and Battery with a dangerous weapon, a felony, were filed in Lincoln County District Court March 22, 2022 against Mick Devin Vancuren who was 31 at time.

8th Grade Grads

Arson charge dropped

A second degree arson charge filed against a Meeker area man in January has been dismissed by the state. Youlha Rhodes, 39, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court Jan. 13 with second degree arson. Rhodes appeared before Associate District Judge Sheila Kirk Jan.
