Celebrating Independence Day

Many of you are aware of my passion for veterans. Without the dedication and service of those who fought in previous wars and conflicts, many of us wouldn’t be here today.Early last month, the United States and France, among other countries, observed the 80th anniversary of the landing at Normandy.

A year’s work in 52 seconds

It was May 5, 2023, my first day of competition at the Great American Conference Championships.After competing at 13 meets across six months along with 10 months of training, it was time to cash in all that hard work on the biggest stage.

Last weekend Kindra and I went glamping, as I have since learned it’s called.Glamorous camping, which is an oxymoron if ever there was one.It was fun. Kindra booked us a night in a secluded air conditioned tent near Blue River, north of Tish.

Anniversary

Next Monday, Pat and I will celebrate our wedding anniversary. WeweremarriedonJuly 1, 1978 at St. Gregory’s Chapel. That was a Saturday morning.I’m not sure what our plans will be for that evening since both of us will be working that day at least some, if not most of it.

Popping the question

I laid in my bed anxious and eager to do what I had planned for the next day, to propose to my girlfriend. I’d been planning for over seven months to propose on my family vacation at the beach in Galveston during “family pictures.

Meeker approves budgets

Meeker Town Board of Trustees has approved the final General Fund and Public Works Authority budgets for the 2024-2025 Fiscal Year.The General Fund budget totals $997,065 and the Public Works Authority budget is $1,080,250.

Father’s Day

Last Sunday was Father’s Day, a day set aside to honor the fathers, grandfathers, great grandfathers and great-great grandfathers.It’s an honor and privilege to be the father of a beautiful young woman as our daughter Meghan is.
