Running at Nationals

Four Chandler athletes will participate in the 2021 USATF Track and Field National Junior Olympics starting next week in Jacksonville, Fla. The event starts Monday and goes through Aug.

Locals at the IFYR

Cothran, Stone Academic All-Staters

Breanna Cothran from Davenport and Jared Stone from Chandler were recently named Academic All-Staters by the Oklahoma Foundation for Excellence. Both are 2021 graduates. Breanna, left, is with her parents, Cathy Lakey and Bryan Cothran, at the awards ceremony.

Chronic Palooza burns out

There won’t be a Chronic Palooza event this year at Meeker Lake.

Hearing delayed

The Meeker Town Board of Trustees is scheduled to hold a public hearing for the proposed annexation of property around the Meeker Lake at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 26. The Town Board voted unanimously during Monday night’s meeting to change the dates from next Monday, June 2.

Chandler cheer camp

Instead of going to the University of Oklahoma for camp this summer, Chandler High School and Junior High had a home cheer camp. Universal Cheerleaders Association sent three staffers to train and practice routines, stunts, jumps and various other cheer techniques.

All-state fastpitch
