James Lee Jackson

James Lee Jackson was born on December 10, 1932 in Alva, Oklahoma to Roy Jackson and Alice Hada Jackson. He was the first born in a family of five, would later have a younger sister, Peggy, and younger brother, Timm.

Sterlene “Cookie” Bybee

Miss Sterlene Ann Bybee died on 3/18/23 at Baylor Scott and White Medical Center ICU in Temple, Tx after a short sudden illness. Sterlene was born in Beaumont Tx. On October 21st, 1946, where she lived with parents Sterling & Sara Payton Bybee until they passed away.

Tiger Classic Randall, Mixon, McGough win two

Seniors Kileigh Mixon from Stroud and Riley Randall from Meeker and freshman Lila McGough from Chandler won two events each Saturday at the Tiger Classic track meet in Stroud. McGough won the 200 and 400 meter dashes and helped the Chandler girls to a second-place finish.

Commissioners approve Jacktown application

Lincoln County commissioners have approved making application for a Community Development Block Grant for the Jacktown Fire Department for fire apparatus. Commissioners also took no action on applying for a CDBG grant for a parking lot for the Lincoln County Fairgrounds.

Chandler BPA shines

Ten Chandler BPA students qualified for state competition and seven were able to attend and compete earlier this month. Out of the seven competitors, four will be advancing to Nationals that will be held in Anaheim, California April 26-30th.
