Joshua “Cody” Moore, 28, of Harrah, passed from this life to the next Aug. 18, 2022, the result of motorcycle accident. He was born Oct. 22, 1993, in West Covina, California, to Lela Mae (Wall) Moore.

Mary Denise (Payne) Barbee passed away much too soon on Aug. 17, 2022. Our hearts are aching. She was a beautiful and loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and friend. She was born to Dorothy Faye Grimes and Kendall Dale Payne 56 years ago in Oklahoma City, Okla.

Marjorie “Marge” White

Marjorie “Marge” May White of Bull Shoals, Arkansas, passed away Aug. 11, 2022, in Mountain Home, Ark. at the age of 88. She was born May 16,1934, in Linden, N.J., the daughter of Alphonse Levi and Mary Amynthe Robin Lyons. She married Jimmy Jerry White on Nov. 29, 1959.

Tryon hearing continued

A pre-preliminary has been continued for one of three former officials with the City of Tryon facing embezzlement and conspiracy charges as the result of a special investigative audit have made their initial appearances and their pre-preliminary hearings have been scheduled.

Charges filed in pursuit

A driver faces two felonies and a pair of misdemeanors following a pursuit that began in Meeker and ended in Chandler in Lincoln County recently. Joshua Wade Pleasant, 34, Shawnee, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 1 with two felony counts of running a roadblock.

Warrant issued for sex offender

A bench warrant has been issued for the arrest of a Chandler man who is a registered sex offender and who faces two felony counts. Scott Grady Sweeden, 43, was formally charged in Lincoln County District Court on Aug. 15.
