County Commission meeting

Lincoln County commissioners during a special meeting this week approved a 911 mapping system for Emergency Management. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said the commissioners agreed to purchase One Map Mapping System that will be paid for from Emergency Management’s budget.

Planning commission recommends no rezoning

The Chandler Planning Commission has voted not to recommend rezoning property for a sports center. City Manager Jason Orr indicated Tuesday he’s not sure the property owner wants to pursue it any further. The Planning Commission conducted a public hearing June 30 on the proposed rezoning of 13.

Hearing rescheduled in Meeker felony DUI

The pre-preliminary hearing has been rescheduled for a Meeker man facing a felony DUI charge and several misdemeanor counts following his arrest recently by Meeker police. The charges were formally filed in Lincoln County District Court on April 18 against Tyler Marc Armitage, 22.

Lincoln County Commissioners to hold special meeting

Lincoln County commissioners this week discussed ARPA project fund requests and they plan to hold a special meeting next week to discuss and work on them more.

Jacob Ray Melrose (Rozell)

Jacob Ray Melrose (Rozell), born July 31, 1978, went to be with his Lord and Savior June 23, 2022. Jacob was raised by Sherryl Rozell (mother), the late James Nance (father) and John Rozell (stepfather). Jacob attended SNU school for children firstfourth grade in Bethany, Okla.

Patricia Dawn Mathis

Patricia Dawn Mathis, of Chandler, died June 29, 2022, at age 60. She was born July 12, 1961.

Alvin Gale Danker

Alvin Gale Danker was born April 29, 1948 in Wellston to Earl and Vinita (Brown) Danker. He died June 29, 2022 in his home in Wellston at the age of 74. He worked as a delivery driver for UPS retiring after 30 years of service.
