The Meeker Town Board of Trustees is scheduled to hold a public hearing for the proposed annexation of property around the Meeker Lake at 6 p.m. on Monday, July 26.
The Town Board voted unanimously during Monday night’s meeting to change the dates from next Monday, June 2.
Betty Kaye (Roop) Roper, age 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, June 13, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family. She leaves behind her husband of 59 years, Gerald “Jerry” Roper of Townsend, Tenn.
Stephen Ardean Steinle was born August 19, 1949, in Great Bend, Kan., and died Tuesday, June 15, 2021, in Luther, Okla. He was 71 years old.
Steinle was a small engine mechanic and a long-haul truck driver. He was of the Mennonite Brethren faith.
Amelia Belle (Smith) Giles was born May 31, 1925, in Oklahoma City. She died Thursday, June 17, 2021, in Chandler at the age of 96 years.
Giles, the daughter of Jesse and Edna (Elver) Smith, married Lloyd Giles in 1945.
David Doyal Greer was born on May 18, 1941 in Oklahoma City, Okla., to Doyal A. and Doris Lee Greer. He was the grandson of Frank and Edna Haynie, longtime Prague residents.
He attended Prague Public Schools before joining the military and was stationed in Gary, Ind., with a Nike Missile Unit.
Grace Glee Burnham, age 108 of Canby, Ore., passed away on June 11, 2021 from complications related to a fall two days earlier. She had enjoyed good health her entire life, living independently in her own homes in Oregon and Oklahoma until recently entering an assisted living facility.
Bobby Gene Morris, 91 of Avondale Estates, Ga., passed away June 18, 2021 after spending his final day visiting with his wife and all three of his children.
A funeral service will be held for Jessie Flanagan at 11 a.m., Friday, June 25, 2021, in the chapel of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, which handled the final arrangements.
Flanagan was born March 20, 1940, in Dustin, Okla., and died Friday, June 18, 2021, at the age of 81 years.
Marie “Granny” Hall of Meeker was born January 18, 1926 and died Thursday, June 17, 2021. She was 95 years old.
Hall was involved at Meeker First Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 70 years, Sherman.
