Lincoln County commissioners this week reappointed Lee Doolen as their chairman and Marlin Miller as vice chairman. They also made several appointments and took no action on allowing the Sac and Fox Tribe to handle engineering of eight bridges.

Doolen is District 3 commissioner and Miller is commissioner in District 2.

Commissioners, in discussing the Sac and Fox Tribe handling the engineering of eight bridges, indicated they didn’t want to make Tribal officials mad at them but they also didn’t want to take a step back either.

With that commissioners agreed to take no action for now.

They also held up on contracting with Judy Smith on an application for an Attorney General Opioid Abatement grant and regarding funding for Gateway Horse Therapy through an Opioid Abatement grant. County Clerk Alicia Wagnon said she would contact Smith, who works for Gateway, to have her come and visit with commissioners on those two items.

They took no action on a monthly apportionment to the Fire Departments from the Use Tax Fund.

Commissioners decided to total out a damaged International ambulance that needs repairs for Emergency Management.

They took no action on approving a Fair Board Election resolution accepting the filing period and setting the date and time for the Election of Board members to the Lincoln County Fair Board. Wagnon said she had not had time to prepare the resolution.

In other business, commissioners: Accepted a $2,000 donation from Portman Ranch, LLC for District 2.

Approved a six-month bid on rock.

Approved an Oklahoma Unpaved Roads Grant program application for District 2. Miller said it was for 3400 Road.

Took no action on approving a Declaration of Surplus for District 2, deciding to wait until their meeting.

Reappointed a member to the Project Heart Board.

Appointed Miller as a non-voting member to the 911 Trust Authority.

Reappointed Doolen as a board member to Community Action agency.

Appointed District 1 Commissioner Will Fine as a board member to Oklahoma Public Employee Health and Wellness.

Left the appointed board members to the Industrial Development Authority as is.
