Pitcher Bryson Taylor scattered six hits and Chandler scored four unearned runs to take a 7-0 district win over Prague Monday.
The two teams were back in action at Chandler on Tuesday.
Taylor didn’t allow a hit until Hayden Kinslow stroked a two-hit single in the fourth and he faced only one serious jam, a bases-load situation with one out in the bottom of the sixth.
The Lions got him all the runs he would need by scoring a pair in the top of the first.
Taylor singled to start the game and later scored on a sacrifice by Rhett Haley. Maddox Metheny, who had walked, later scored on a wild pitch.
The Lions made it 4-0 in the top of the third when Sawyer Sims and Christian Goeller scored on an error.
Hudson Bennitt scored in the fifth and Metheny drove a sacrifice fly to right to score Landon Earp to make it 6-0.
Earp walked and scored again in the seventh to make it 7-0.
Goeller had two of Chandler’s hits and scored twice. Clay LaValley threw five innings for Prague and allowed just four hits. Kinslow finished up with two hitless innings.
Baseball roundup Week of March 29-April 4 Carney
For the week: 3-0. Wins over Drumright (12-7), Mulhall-Orlando (8-7) and Coyle (8-1). Record: 9-3.
Lane Ramsey homered, doubled, singled, scored three times and drove in three runs against Drumright. Payten Edgar added a pair of doubles and threw five strong innings in relief, striking out 10 and allowing only two hits and no earned runs.
Lane was back with four RBI and a double as the Bulldogs won without scoring an earned run against Mulhall-Orlando on Tuesday.
Remington Martin and Heston Welch combined to throw seven innings of six-hit ball for Carney.
Martin drove in three runs in the win over Coyle, with Lane and Urban Spoonmoore banging doubles. Martin also pitched two innings in relief, striking out six.
Chandler
For the week: 0-3. Losses to Oklahoma Christian School (3-0 and 19-9) and Skiatook (11-8). Record: 6-11.
Christian Goeller had two singles and a double and scored three times against Skiatook.
Maddox Metheny and Bryson Taylor added doubles. In the second game against OCS, Rhett Haley and Sawyer Sims had double and Metheny, Sims and Haley all had three RBI each.
Dale
For the week: 2-1. Wins over Stroud (10-1) and McAlester (8-0). Loss to Blanchard (10-7). Record: 8-3. Ranked No. 1 in Class 2A1.
Briar Thurman, A.J. Carpenter and Elvis Edwards combined for five innings on the mound against Stroud. They struck eight and didn’t allow an earned run.
Left fielder Carver Crowson led the offense, going 3-for-3, scoring two runs and driving in another. He and Hunter Watkins had doubles.
Thurman was back on the mound against McAlester, throwing six innings of three-hit ball.
Denton Forsythe provided the offensive punch, stroking a double and three singles. Edwards had a pair of hits and two RBI.
Braylon White had two hits and drove in three runs against Blanchard. Turman had three hits and Wyatt Seeley had a double and drove in two.
Davenport
For the week: 2-0. Wins over Oilton (9-1) and Drumright (14-1). Record: 11-8. Ranked No. 10 in Class A2.
Trevor Edwards spun a three-hitter against Oilton, striking out nine and walking just one. He lived around the plate, throwing strikes on 52 of his 81 pitches.
His battery mate, catcher Carter Marshall, tripled, singled and drove in two runs and Chase Mitchell drove in three runs with a double and single.
Brody Robinson, and Devin Murfin added doubles.
Murfin was back with two more doubles and four RBI in the win over Drumright.
Mitchell got the win on the mound, throwing four innings and giving up just two hits.
McLoud
For the week: 0-4. Losses to Bethany (11-0 and 12-1), Harrah (12-2) and Elk City(12-0). Record: 3-16.
Hits and runs were hard to come by for the Redskins last week.
Jariah Freeman singled to drive in J’very Mitchell in the second game against Bethany and Justus Rooker had an RBI single to score Brayden Smith against Harrah.
Meeker
For the week: 3-1. Wins over Prague (7-4 and 11-6) and Gore (10-4). Loss to Kiefer (11-4). Record: 14-6.
The Bulldogs swept a pair of district games from Highway 62 rival Prague early in the week.
Maverick Herring was 3-for-4 with a double and three RBI in the first game, played Monday at Prague.
In the Tuesday game at Meeker, Bryce Bussell, Castin Schafer and Herring had two RBI each.
The Bulldogs had nine hits - all singles - against Gore. Cooper Spencer had three of them and scored twice. Brodey Manning had two and drove in two runs.
North Rock Creek
For the week: 1-1. Win over Fort Cobb-Broxton. Loss to Jones (13-4). Record: 9-8.
Kona Paningsoro pitched a five-hit shutout against Fort Cobb-Broxton on Friday. He struck out five, didn’t walk any and threw strikes on 63 of his 87 pitches.
He also singled and drove in a run. Hasten Conley had a double and two singles and scored once. Hunter Bertram scored twice and had an RBI.
Bertram hit a grand slam in the fourth inning for all the Cougars’ runs in the loss to Jones.
Prague
For the week: 1-2. Win over Seminole (11-1). Losses to Meeker (7-4 and 1-6). Record: 9-7.
Eli Lakins pitched four innings of one-hit ball to get the pitching win against Seminole. He struck out four and allowed two walks.
Henry Hankins drove in three runs to pace the offense and Hayden Kinslow had a single and a double and an RBI. Colt Thomas doubled and scored a run.
In the first Meeker game, Kinslow, Kolten Yeager and Talan Thomas each had two hits.
In the second game, played at Meeker, Treviso and Talan Thomas each had a double and scored twice.
Stroud
For the week: 3-1. Wins over Luther (3-0) and Dibble (9-2) Vanoss (8-0). Loss to Dale (9-2). Record: 11-5. Ranked No. 10 in Class 2A1.
Freshman Gideon Smalley tossed a five-inning onehitter against Vanoss, getting strikeouts for 11 of his 15 outs and didn’t walk a batter.
Jessen Leathers was 2-for-2 and had three RBI. Cal Shields homered, singled and drove in four runs against Dibble and threw a two-hitter against Luther.
Wellston
For the week: 3-1. Wins over Oilton (10-1), Crescent (4-1) and Coyle (13-6). Loss to Luther (11-4). Record: 6-3.
Cash Whiteker had a great Monday and Tuesday, going 2-for-3 with two RBI on Monday against Oilton, then taking the mound throwing five innings of three-hit ball to get the win against Crescent.
Against Coyle, Rush McGovran had a double, two singles and scored twice.
Justin Kelley had a double and two singles against Luther.
