The Stroud School Board approved an agreement with Davenport Public Schools for a boys’ golf team and several hirings at its regular meeting on Sept. 16.
The Board voted to accept the superintendent’s recommendation to approve an agreement between Stroud and Davenport schools for a Cooperative Activities Program at the high school and middle school for boys’ golf for the 2026-27 school year. They also approved the hiring of John Murfin as the team’s coach.
Other personnel decisions include accepting the resignation of Jennifer Roberts as a middle school library aide and co-op van driver. The Board also hired Lindsey Gordon as a special education co-op transportation aide and middle school custodian; Krysten Wolff as a special education co-op transportation aide; Brittany Dulaney as a special education co-op driver; Jamie Bailey as a middle school library aide; and Michelle Whitson as a special education transportation aide.
The School Board also approved two overnight trips -- one for FFA to attend the National Convention in Indianapolis on Oct. 20-24 and the other for STUCO to attend the State STUCO Convention in Norman on Nov. 7-9.
The Board approved the National School Lunch Program Renewal Agreement for the next school year, the Gifted and Talented Committee and the capacity numbers as presented in the Student Transfer Policy. It approved the Estimate of Needs for the year as well.
It took no action on the Indian Policy and Procedures, but approved the course offerings of Career and Technology Education programs.
