James (Jim) William McCracken

James William Mc-Cracken (Jim) was born January 25th, 1929, to Lewis James and Mary Elizabeth (Dye) Adams McCracken on the family farm south of Davenport, Oklahoma. He was the youngest of three children, which includes: his brother Emerson Adams and sister Mary Louise Mc-Cracken Keeling.

Douglass Alumni taco

The Douglass Alumni Association is sponsoring and hosting Taco Monday on Jan. 15, inviting the community to attend and enjoy a meal together. The taco night is free and everyone is welcome to come eat. The dinner will be held from 5 to 7 p.m.

Chandler board rehires Baade

Chandler Board of Education members this week approved the hiring of a new maintenance director and approved the district mileage reimbursement rate for 2024. School Supt. Scott Baade said Casey Lawrence is the new maintenance director who has started work.

Five make honor roll at Southern New Hampshire

Five students from the Lincoln County area have made the Fall 2023 President’s List at Southern New Hampshire University, according to the school. The students are Jerry Holland from Stroud, Kristopher Murchison and Amber Murchison from Chandler, and James Gunn and Kristi Gunn from Prague.
