1. Update on “Light up the Park”
A. We want to Thank everyone that participated in the park’s activities this year. A lot of pictures were taken, and it also created a lot of traffic.
B. Dismantling of all displays and lighting is currently going on.
C. Please start now on making plans for next year’s “Light up Homestead”.
2. Update on Glenn Crest Park
A. The snow and rain has slowed down the process of getting part 4 of 5 areas that are to be poured with concrete.
B. I talked to Mr. Ryerson, the concrete contractor, and he is scheduled with Van Eaton concrete to pour section 4 this Friday morning at 11 AM. Then section 5 will be poured Monday.
C. *Then sod from Top Turf will be put in place in different areas.
*Stripe the parking lot.
*Replace the broken basketball goal.
*Mark T-ball field/still waiting on our pavilion.
*Then general cleanup and a small amount of painting.
*A grand opening will be scheduled soon for the ribbon cutting. We will notify everyone in advance.
3. Update on Quapaw 15 Project “Meeker Lake”
A. We have not received the current study they are preparing for the Town of Meeker.
B. Michael Hollie from the Oklahoma Game, Fish and Wildlife has contacted us about grants that are available also to help with the project. They can help with floating docks, bathrooms, boat launch ramps, and all type of trails, plus much more. This will be a 75 – 25 matching grant. We will use some of the $1 million dollars that State Rep. Kevin Wallace has allocated to the project for our 25% match.
C. Application for these grants will be filled out soon by these 3 ladies: Mary Connor, Judy Vaughn and Diana Rodgers. You know what they say about a good man, is that they have a good woman behind them. Well, I’m blessed to have 3 of them behind me. And one at home. So, thank you Mary, Jody and Diana for all that you do, along with all 3 being selected as the Friendliest Employee of the month.
D. We are currently filing for 6 more grants with OMAG.
E. In addition, we have also applied for grants from the following:

*COEDD Reap Grant
*Crossroads: Change in Rural Oklahoma
*T-Set: Incentive and Certified Health
*Keep Oklahoma Beautiful: Environmental and Roadside
*Great American Cleanup 2021
4. Update on Chamber of Commerce
A. The Chamber of Commerce has approved this year’s City-Wide Garage Sale. It will be the 2nd Saturday in May, which will be May 8th. So, mark that down on your calendar.
5. Summary:
A. Keep on doing what we are doing.
B. Make a few adjustments.
C. This is where the Towns people come into play.
