I don’t know about Districts 2 & 3 of Lincoln County, but I have been driving the roads in Northeast Lincoln County for over 50 years and have never seen them worse than they are now.
My brother asked me (I being the secretary of our volunteer fire department, having access to names of property owners) to call a meeting to ask people to vote for Carl Munson, when he ran for county commissioner in District 1. A greater mistake was never made.
There is a lot more gravel in the ditches than there is on the roads, and every time the grader goes by, more gravel goes in the ditches.
If Carl were interested in fixing the roads, he would make the grader operators make as many passes as it takes to pull the gravel out of the ditches, back onto the roads, and of course that would entail pulling up a few larger rocks, but all they would have to do is go back through with the blade raised a few inches and push the large rocks back into the ditch. In fact, I asked Carl, right after he was elected, if they were going to get the rocks out of the ditches and he told me, yes, he couldn’t afford to replace them.
If I were 10 years younger I would run for county commissioner.
