Five students from Lincoln County have been awarded tuition grants from the Oklahoma Hall of Fame in their annual Oklahoma Scholarship Competition, according to a press release from the Hall of Fame.
The students are Britten Lee Himle from Prague High School for the Univeristy of Central Oklahoma; Josie Murray from Wellston High School for the Oklahoma Panhandle State University; Savana Sims from Prague High School for Seminole State College; Vincent Travis, homeschooled, for Southern Naverene University; and Jeremiah Griffith from Prague High School for Rose State College.
All received a $1,000 tuition grant. The Oklahoma Hall of Fame awarded over $140,000 in scholarships and tuition grants this year to 130 Oklahoma high school students. They registered to participate in the Oklahoma Scholarship Competition in February and March and took an online Oklahoma history exam to qualify.
Of those students, 17 earned cash scholarships and 113 earned tuition grants to 29 different Oklahoma universities and colleges.
The students were honored at the Scholarship Awards Assembly on April 23 at the Oklahoma Hall of Fame Gaylord-Pickens Museum.
