    Prague and North Rock Creek took advantage of Zero Week to open the football season on Friday night, and the rest of the area schools will kick it off this week.

    Prague steamrolled Casady, 45-8, while NRC came up on the short end of a 41-6 verdict at Marlow. Prague and NRC are off this week prior to playing on Week 2 at Prague.

    Chandler heads over to Stroud Friday to renew their ancient rivalry with theTigers. Kickoff is at 7 p.m. at Jack Poskey Stadium.

    Stroud won last year’s game, 21-14, to give their seniors their first career win over Chandler. The tigers rolled on through and undefeated regular season and reached the state semifinals before falling to Davis.

    Chandler rallied after the loss, finished second in district and reached the second round of the playoffs.

    In other action, Meeker will host the Pawnee Black Bears for a 7 p.m. kickoff at Bulldog Stadium and Davenport travels to Weleetka.
