NRC 45, Red Devils 0

North Rock Creek rolled past Prague, 45-0, in the Red Devils’ home opener Friday night.

The Cougars moved to 1-1 with the win and get to open their home season Friday against Holdenville on a brand new turf field.

The crew was still working on the turf during the week, but assured the school it would be ready for kickoff Friday night.

Prague moved to 1-1 for the season as well and now goes to Meeker Friday night for the annual highway 62 showdown with the Bulldogs.

“I thought we played pretty well on both sides of the ball,” NRC coach Jason Murray said. “We know their quarterback is a good athlete, so stopping their running game was a good test for us.

“On offense, we tried to take advantage of what they gave us.”

Murray credited quarterback Landon Rosser with a good job taking care of the football and taking advantage of opportunities and CJ Stephens for some receptions and runs.

Now it’s time for a home game.

“We’re excited not to have to hop on a bus and go somewhere,”Murray said.
