A former North Rock Creek area resident has been charged in the death of a Shawnee man that occurred three years ago.
Christopher John Pipestem, 38, has been charged in Pottawatomie County District Court with felony first-degree murder with deliberate intent.
He is accused in the death of Isaiah Anthony Harjo on Jan. 4, 2017, who resided at 130 E. 45th Street in Shawnee.
A probable cause affidavit filed with the court seeking an arrest warrant for Pipestem states his last known address was in Seminole.
According to court records, the charges were filed on Feb. 21, this year, and amended information was filed on Feb. 25, this year.
Pipestem also faces felony charges of robbery with a weapon and child abuse.
Records show that at the time Pipestem is accused of committing those crimes he was residing on Butler Drive in Shawnee. That street is located in the North Rock Creek area.
Pipestem is also accused of robbing Harjo by taking and carrying away property and using a pistol to shoot Harjo and rob him of property from his pockets.
The child abuse charge alleges Pipestem pointed a pistol at the head of a minor under 18 identified only as J.R. and forced J.R. to remove property from Harjo.
Neal Davis, spokesman for District Attorney Allan Grubb, said Pipestem was arrested recently in a small community in Oklahoma.
